As a California Energy Commission (CEC)-certified HERS Provider and Registry, GSR is proud to offer an advanced and supportive certification pathway for both experienced and new HERS Raters. Our goal is simple: to build a trusted network of Raters who are committed to accuracy, integrity, and helping California reach its energy efficiency goals.

Already a Certified Rater? Get Certified with GSR Fast

If you've been certified with another approved Provider, you may be eligible for our Challenge Test Program—a streamlined process that allows qualified Raters to transfer and become active with GSR quickly. You'll receive everything you need to get up and running with us fast, including training support, access to our registry, and top-tier technical assistance.

New to HERS Rating? GSR Will Train You for Success

If you're new to the HERS program, GSR offers one of the most comprehensive training programs in the industry, featuring:

Home Study Curriculum: Learn the foundational knowledge at your own pace
Live Online or In-Person Classes: Taught by experienced instructors who were HERS Raters themselves
Hands-On Field Training: Practice with real equipment and scenarios to build confidence in the field

If you're a homeowner who has recently upgraded or replaced your heating or air conditioning system, you may be required to complete Title 24 HERS Testing to certify the work and comply with California Energy Code requirements.
